Ladli Beti Scheme is presented by the Jammu and Kashmir governments to help the people who have a girl child but they do not have adequate resources to help to achieve their education. The scheme was created to help the girl child who was born after 2015 in the Jammu and Kashmir territory and Ladakh. The people will be able to successfully apply for the scheme and the Ladli Beti Scheme will help in the declining issue of the female sex ratio in the Jammu and Kashmir state. The people who are now permanent residents of the Jammu and Kashmir state are suffering because of the low income that is available for the people and the lack of resources available for the children. The first phase is a 14-year recurring deposit account with a completion date set for one month after the last installment is received. After the maturity of Phase I, the account will graduate to Phase II which is a 7-year cumulative term deposit account.

- The annual income of the parents of the girl child from all sources should be less than ₹75,000.
- The girl child and her family should be residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
Benefits and Incentives
The following benefits will be available to the people who will apply for this scheme:-
- The Ladli Beti Scheme 2024 requires the natural or legal guardian of a girl child to open a recurring deposit account under the scheme.
- The J&K government will contribute Rs. 1000/- per month to the account from the birth of the girl child or account opening date for 14 years, totaling Rs. 168000/-.
- No credits other than the monthly contribution of Rs. 1000/- by the J&K government are allowed in Phase I (RD Account).
- After the maturity of Phase I, the account will convert to Phase II (Cumulative Term Deposit account), and no partial drawls or foreclosure will allow during any phase.
- The maturity benefits will pay to the beneficiary on completion of 21 years of age or 21 years after the first installment or 85 months after the last installment, whichever is later, by crediting the savings bank account of the girl child.
- The nomination facility will not be applicable, and in the event of the death of the girl child, the account balance along with interest accrued will revert to the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
- The account opened at a particular branch cannot be transferred to any other branch.
- The beneficiary/parent or guardian must produce a life certificate of the beneficiary certified by a gazetted officer or the principal of the school/college where she is enrolled every three years and at the time of maturity.
- The TDS will not be deducted as long as the guardian/beneficiary furnishes form 15G/15H every year and has a valid PAN.
- The scheme aims to benefit households with an annual income of less than Rs. 75000/- and promote the education and empowerment of girls.
How to apply for the Ladli Beti Scheme 2024?
The applicant must follow the following application procedure to apply for the scheme:
- Register on the Service Plus Portal by creating login details
- Click “Apply for Services” and search for “Application for obtaining financial assistance under Ladli Beti Scheme”.
- Upload mandatory documents and submit the application.
- Download the Acknowledgement for record and reference, and track the application status through the Rapid Assessment System (RAS).
- CDPO will reject/revert deficient applications within 15 days or forward them to DPO for approval.
- DPO will reject/revert deficient applications within 10 days or forward them to the Deputy Commissioner for sanction.
- The Deputy Commissioner will reject/revert deficient applications within 10 days or sanction and forward them to the Director (Finance) / FA & CAO for disbursement of financial assistance.

The selection process for the Ladli Beti Scheme 2024 involves the following steps:
- The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria set by the government, which include being a resident of the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh and having an annual income of less than Rs. 75,000.
- The applicant must register on the Service Plus Portal and create login details to apply for the scheme.
- The applicant must apply for the scheme by submitting the application form along with the required documents through the online portal.
