The government of Odisha is implementing a new initiative called e Vehicle Portal Odisha for the electric vehicle owners of the state who buy it after 1st September 2021. Shri Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, IAS, Chief Secretary to Govt of Odisha launched this portal on 1st April 2022 in Lokseba Bhawan for offering subsidies on buying electric vehicles, it may be a 2 wheeler, 3 wheeler or 4-wheeler. To apply under the portal to get a subsidy you will be needed to fill out the application form to submit your details. Now some new features are incorporated under the e Vehicle Portal Odisha, where everything will be done automatically. The information about the vehicle will be transferred into the portal through Vahan Portal. This new upgrade will be started on the 25th of December 2022.
What Is the Vehicle Portal Odisha?
As everything is becoming digital or automatic with less involvement of intermediate. The e-Vehicle Portal Odisha is upgraded into an automatic service where all the details related to the e-vehicle will be transferred into the portal by the Vahan Portal. For the citizens who buy a 2-wheeler, the subsidy would be 15% of the cost, up to a maximum rate of Rs. 5,000. For 3-wheelers, the subsidy would be 15% of the cost, up to a maximum rate of Rs. 10,000, and for 4-wheelers the 15% cost will be Rs. 50,000. Now citizens don’t need to fill in every detail related to the vehicle, they just have to visit the portal, log in, and enter the bank details where they get the subsidy prize. The need to visit the RTO office will be reduced, and there will be transparency among the authorities and the common people.

The main aim of implementing the e-Vehicle Portal Odisha is to offer subsidies to the buyers of e-vehicles. And make the process of subsidy disbursement easy and transparent. Eligibility Criteria
The applicants will need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for the subsidy:
- Candidate must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- The candidate must buy an electric vehicle after 1st September 2021.
- The electric vehicle must be a 2-wheeler, 3-wheeler or 4-wheeler.
Application Procedure for getting Subsidy from Portal
Candidates need to follow the instructions given below to apply for the subsidy:
- Applicants first need to visit the official website of State Transport Authority, Odisha.
- The homepage will appear on your screen. Here you have to click on the Online Service button.
- Now a new page will be on your screen, here you need to click on the Apply Online option.
- After that the registration page will be on your screen. Enter your Vehicle Number and Chassis Number.
- Now click on the button on the OTP button.
- You will get the OTP on your registered number, enter the OTP and fill in the other required details.
- After that you have to click on the submit button to complete the process.
